According to weekly Euro, Cesky Telecom reportedly plans to have 100,000 ADSL Subscribers by the end of 2004 compared to around 15,000 by the end of the last year.
ADSL services should in our opinion slowdown the decline in demand for fixed lines. Particularly the increasing popularity of flat rate internet access offered by mobile operators confirmed strong demand for these services among the Czech consumers. ADSL should compete with these services with high connection speed, however it lagged behind in accessibility of the service, which should be available on 60% of the company’s lines in mid 2004.
