Travelling to the Czech Republic

Estonia is classified as a country with a very high risk of incidence of COVID-19 (dark red category), therefore, the following rules apply for travelling from Estonia to the Czech Republic.
Citizens of the Czech Republic and EU+ as well as foreign nationals with a residence permit issued by the Czech Republic or an EU country may enter the Czech Republic for any purpose, subject to the rules set out below. Citizens of non-EU countries may enter the Czech Republic only for specific purposes (which do not include, for example, business or tourism), the details of which are set out in Article II.1 of the current Protective Measure for of Entry into the Czech Republic. Special rules apply to trips from the Southern Africa region. Currently, persons with COVID-19 are in principle banned from entering the Czech Republic.
Arrival form: All travellers who have spent more than 12 hours in countries with a very high risk of infection (which currently include Estonia) within the past 14 days are required to fill in the passenger locator form before entering the Czech Republic (read detailed instructions here). This obligation does not apply to international transport carriers; to land travel to and from the Czech Republic shorter than 12 hours; to land transit through the Czech Republic shorter than 12 hours; to children under 12 years of age; to cross-border workers and students; and to travellers using exclusively individual transport for the entire duration of their journey to the Czech Republic (which may not exceed 24 hours).
Pre-travel test: Vaccinated travellers and those who have recovered from COVID-19 are not required to undergo a SARS-COV-2 pre-travel test. Unvaccinated third country nationals must present a negative result from a PCR test taken up to 72 hours before entering the Czech Republic. Unvaccinated travellers who are Czech citizens or residents must undergo at least an antigen test if arriving by public transport; if travelling by individual transport, a pre-travel test is not required. Likewise, travellers using individual transport to and from the Czech Republic from/to neighboring countries do not need to undergo a test if their stay in the country does not exceed 24 hours.
Post-entry rules: Unvaccinated travellers must undergo a second PCR test no earlier than 5 and no later than 7 days after arrival in the Czech Republic (unless their stay is shorter). Pending the results of the second test, a respirator or other protective equipment (class FFP2 or CN 95) must be worn everywhere outside the home. Warning: as of 22 November 2021, services such as accommodation, restaurants, hairdressers, beauty salons, or indoor sports facilities including swimming pools are only accessible to fully vaccinated persons or persons who have recovered from COVID-19. An exception applies to persons under 18 years of age, partially vaccinated individuals, and persons with a medical certificate indicating a contraindication to vaccination – these groups of people may enter upon presenting a valid PCR test. All travellers must generally follow the applicable anti-pandemic measures during their stay in the Czech Republic.
Definition of a vaccinated person: A vaccinated person is defined as a person who presents a valid certificate of completion of the COVID-19 vaccination issued in accordance with the EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation, provided that at least 14 days have elapsed since the completion of the vaccination schedule, and who does not show any symptoms of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health maintains lists of authorized COVID-19 vaccines and of countries whose certificates are recognized. A valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate must contain details of the person vaccinated, the type of vaccine administered, and the date of administration of the vaccine.
Definition of a person who has recovered from COVID-19: The traveller must provide proof of having contracted and recovered from COVID-19, issued in accordance with the EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation (if issued by a third country, it must be included in the above-mentioned list of the Ministry of Health). Simultaneously, at least 11 days but no more than 180 days have elapsed since the first positive result of the RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2.
The COVID-19 information hotline is available daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1221 (or at +420 226 20 1221 if calling from abroad).
