Industrial producer prices down by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU
Overview
In June 2026, compared with May 2026, industrial producer prices decreased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In May 2026, industrial producer prices grew by 0.2% in both the euro area and the EU.
In June 2026, compared with June 2025, industrial producer prices increased by 4.6% in the euro area and by 4.7% in the EU.

Monthly comparison by main industrial grouping and by Member State
In the euro area in June 2026, compared with May 2026, industrial producer prices

increased by 0.3% for intermediate goods,

decreased by 1.5% for energy,

increased by 0.2% for capital goods,

increased by 0.2% for durable consumer goods,

remained stable for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.2%.
In the EU, industrial producer prices

increased by 0.3% for intermediate goods,

decreased by 1.4% for energy,

increased by 0.3% for capital goods,

increased by 0.2% for durable consumer goods,

decreased by 0.1% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.2%.
The largest monthly decreases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Lithuania (-1.7%), Ireland (-1.5%), Bulgaria and Greece (both -1.3%). The highest increases were observed in Slovakia (+1.1%), Romania (+1.0%) and Estonia (+0.9%).

increased by 2.2% for capital goods,

increased by 2.8% for durable consumer goods,

decreased by 0.7% for non-durable consumer goods.
Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 2.9%.
The highest annual increases in industrial producer prices were recorded in Bulgaria (+18.2%), Romania (+14.3%) and Ireland (+11.4%), while the only decrease was observed in Luxembourg (-3.2%).

Revisions and timetable
Compared with data issued in the News Release of 6 July 2026, the monthly percentage increases for May 2026 remained unchanged at +0.2% in both the euro area and the EU. The annual percentage increases also remained unchanged at +5.9% in the euro area and at +5.7% in the EU.
Methods and definitions
The index of producer prices shows (in the national currency of the country concerned) changes in the ex-works sale prices of all products sold on the domestic market, excluding imports. Euro area and EU indices refer to overall weighted price changes. The figures are not calendar day or seasonally adjusted.
Total industry covers NACE rev.2 sections B to D + E36.

Euro area (EA21) includes Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia and Finland.
