In 2025, the usage of e-business applications varied among enterprise size classes in the EU.

E-business applications are used by enterprises specifically for:

  • enterprise resource planning (ERP),
  • customer relationship management (CRM) or
  • data analyses and business intelligence (BI).

There was a significant gap between small and large enterprises, which was close to or above 50 percentage points (pp) for those using ERP or BI software.

The percentage of enterprises with ERP applications – the most widely used in the EU – ranged from 41% for small enterprises to 89% for large enterprises (48 pp gap), and from 11% to 69% (58 pp gap) respectively for those using BI software and from 25% to 65% (41 pp gap) for the enterprises using CRM software.
