EGO Zlín, Ltd. products were also presented at the largest South Korean fire protection equipment fair Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2023 from August 30 to September 1, 2023. In particular, pediatric care bags for the safe transport of newborns attracted attention. These will, in the event of a successful trade, be the equipment of special ambulances in every region of Korea.

The portfolio of EGO Zlín, ltd. includes means of protection against infections and viruses such as isolation transport bags, protective suits for emergency personnel or isolation chambers for hospitalization of people. The export of its product to the Korean market is solved through a local partner who promotes this equipment in the project of purchase and construction of special ambulances designed for transport of mother and child.

The Fire & Safety Expo Korea 2023 was held in the southern city of Daegu in cooperation with both Korea's National Fire Agency (note: the Korean institution representing fire departments) and the ministries responsible for emergency management. "This year, 378 exhibitors from 30 countries took part in the fair, the most in our history," said Grace Goo from the organising team, adding, "The number of booths is also a record, reaching 1,372 this year."

This segment of the Korean market will achieve revenues of USD 1.3 million in 2022. It grew by 0.7% year-on-year and is expected to continue its upward trend in the future. The most in-demand products at present include electric vehicle firefighting systems, fire trucks, and IoT-based firefighting systems. Drones and robots for fire brigades, for example, are also proving successful. The biggest hurdle that overseas companies face in entering this market is gaining certification of the Korea Fire Institute (KFI) certification, which sets the standards for fire and safety equipment in Korea. Care must also be taken with the complex procurement system, price competitiveness, language localisation and the sufficient quality of local business partners.
