On 28 November Czech Embassy in Bucharest together with Aspen Institute Romania hosted a reception to commemorate 20 years since the NATO Summit held in Prague. Keynote address was given by Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Geoan„ and former minister of National Defence of Romania Ioan Mircea Pascu, reception was opened by Czech permanent representative to NATO Jakub Landovskż.

On 28 November Czech Embassy in Bucharest together with Aspen Institute Romania hosted a reception to commemorate 20 years since the NATO Summit held in Prague.

The 2002 NATO Summit in Prague marked a crucial point in Euro-Atlantic integration, as participating Allied Heads of State and Government decided to invite seven countries, including Romania, to begin accession talks to join the Alliance.

The reception was opened by H.E. Jakub Landovskż, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic in the NATO who pointed out the significance of the Summit which formed the NATO Eastern flank as we know today.

Keynote address was given by Ioan Mircea Pascu, former Minister of National Defence, Romania, who was direct participant when the Romania received invitation to the Alliance.

Last but not least gave a keynote address Mircea Geoan„, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, who thanked the Czech Republic and late president VŠclav Havel for all the work that was put into strengthening the NATO at the Summit in 2002 in Prague.
