Update: Visas and Entry to the Czech Republic - new regulation from 30 September 2021

With effect from 30 September 2021, new rules for application for visa and for entry to the Czech Republic.
The text of the valid Protective Measure determining the restriction of crossing the state border of the Czech Republic can be found here. The following information is only a brief summary of the conditions for travel. In case of doubts, please consult the requirements with the staff of the Consular department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut to acquaint yourself with the text of the valid Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
ENTRY OF FOREIGNERS TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC
APPLICATIONS FOR VISA AND RESIDENT PERMITS
The range of services offered by the Visa section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic is limited, details can be found in the Protection Measure.
Who can apply for short-stay (Schengen) visas
- vaccinated persons
- applicant traveling for the purpose of seasonal employment or for the purpose of employment in food production, health care or social services;
- applicants applying as scientific, key and highly qualified staff and critical infrastructure service staff,
- family members of Czech citizens, from the foreign policy interest of the Czech Republic, for international transport workers, accredited members of diplomatic missions, for partners of Czech citizens from unmarried couples and in extraordinary and urgent situations;
- other categories of applicants according to the Protective measure
Who can apply for long-term visas and stays
All applicants, regardless of their nationality and whether or not they are vaccinated, are free to submit their applications for long term visas and stays, while following the requirements for the respective applications.
ADMISSION OF VISA APPLICATIONS
Applicants for the visas/permits can only apply by appointment.
Schengen visa
Applications are only accepted via VFS Global in Beirut. However Family members of EU citizens can turn directly to the Embassy. Applicants of Syrian nationality always need to make an appointment at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut.
All the applicants regardless of their nationality have to make an appointment at the Embassy.
Important notice: If your application for a long term visa or residence permit (including employment card) has been approved but the consulate rejected to issue the visa due to Protective measure of the Ministry of Health in force at the time and the approved visa/permit is still valid, you are NOW ENTITLED TO REQUEST THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH VISA/PERMIT in line with the new Protective Measure. Please make an appointment at the Embassy and refer to your approved application.
