EU produced 34.4 billion litres of beer in 2025

In 2025, EU countries produced 34.4 billion litres of beer. This represents a slight decline of 0.7% compared with 2024, but a 2.2% increase compared with 2020.

Most of the beer produced, 32.3 billion litres, contained more than 0.5% alcohol, while low alcohol (under 0.5%) and non-alcoholic beer accounted for 2.1 billion litres.

Germany was the EU’s top beer producer in 2025, brewing 7.4 billion litres of beer (21.6% of EU’s sold production). Spain ranked second (5.3 billion litres; 15.5%), followed by Poland (3.5 billion litres; 10.2%). The top 5 list was completed by the Netherlands (2.4 billion litres; 6.9%) and France (2.1 billion litres; 6.0%).
