To Czechia with Love: Gala Concert Brings Czech Music to Haifa

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., the Haifa Auditorium will host the gala concert “To Czechia with Love”, presented by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv in collaboration with the Galilee Music Center and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra. This exceptional cultural event will celebrate the rich musical legacy of the Czech Republic, featuring iconic works by renowned composers Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák, performed under the direction of acclaimed Israeli conductor Ada Pelleg.
The program will showcase Smetana’s “Vltava” from Má vlast and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “From the New World”. These masterpieces, celebrated for their emotional depth and historical significance, will bring Czech music to life for the Haifa audience. The concert also underscores the strong cultural ties between the Czech Republic and Israel, with the Czech Ambassador to Israel, Veronika Kuchyňová migolová, attending as an honored guest, along with other distinguished figures.

About Ada Pelleg
Maestra Ada Pelleg, recognized as one of Israel’s foremost conductors, has an illustrious career that spans orchestras and choirs worldwide. As founder and music director of the Galilee Music Center and conductor of the Israeli Strings Ensemble, she has conducted esteemed ensembles, including the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Pelleg has also held the role of Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Paris Vox Musicorum Orchestra.
Her education includes distinction-based degrees in piano performance from Chicago Music College and in composition and conducting from Indiana School of Music. She was mentored by Maestro Henry Mazer, Associate Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, who recognized her as one of the most promising conductors of her generation. Pelleg’s career is marked by awards, including First Prize in the Molly Margolis Piano Competition, and she was honored as "Woman of the Year 2006" by the Israeli Association of Women in Management.
