Yehuda Bacon and his Fragments of the Past: A Reflection on an Exceptional Exhibition in Jerusalem

On Friday, November 22, 2024, The New Gallery Artists’ Studios Teddy in Jerusalem hosted the grand opening of the exhibition Yehuda Bacon and Fragments of the Past. This extraordinary event, jointly organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv and the New Teddy Gallery, offered visitors not only a chance to view unique works of art but also the rare opportunity to meet the artist himself—Yehuda Bacon. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was filled with creativity, emotion, and mutual inspiration.
The Czech Ambassador to Israel, Veronika Kuchyňová migolová, opened the event with a speech highlighting not only the importance of the exhibition but also the cultural connection between the Czech Republic and Israel. She expressed her gratitude to Yehuda Bacon for his personal contributions to preserving memory and his dedication to sharing the stories of the past through his art.
Fragments of the Past: Art That Speaks
Yehuda Bacon is one of Israel's most renowned artists. His work is deeply rooted in personal experiences from the Holocaust. His drawings and paintings, often inspired by sketches he created in Terezín, carry not only memories of the Holocaust but also hope and strength.
