Czechia supported the installation of solar panels for Arab Women Union in Beit Sahour

On 15 November 2024, with the participation of the Head of the Representative Office Mr. Jakub Šlosárek and the leadership of the Arab Women Union in Beit Sahour in the Bethlehem governorate, a small-scale project was completed and handed over. In the framework of the project, solar panels were installed on the roof of the organisation’s headquarters. The project was funded by the Middle East Reconstruction Programme for 2022-2024.
The new solar panels will help Arab Women Union reduce electricity costs and increase the sustainability of their activities for the benefit of the local community - the organisation runs a kitchen that employs local women, as well as a nursery and a centre for people with disabilities. The Czech Republic has repeatedly supported the their work from the development cooperation funds, recently it helped them to equip their kitchen with a large capacity oven and a herbs and fruit dehydrator.
