Jihlava - How to Park Easily and Without Problems

Visitor parking in Jihlava is easy, and you can park in three simple steps.

1. Park Behind Any Blue Horizontal Line on the Roadway. Blue lines indicate where parking does not obstruct others. Parking outside the blue lines is usually prohibited for a reason.

2. Know the Area and Parking Mode for Proper Payment. Both are indicated on vertical signs at each parking section or block, or online from the map. The area is marked with a number (e.g. 01), the parking mode is indicated by a colour stripe on the sign and on the map:

  • Parking mode 1: Residential (blue)
  • Parking mode 2: Visitor (orange)
  • Parking mode 3: Medium-term (violet)

The blue horizontal line on the roadway does not distinguish between modes; its colour corresponds to traffic rules.

3. Pay for Parking via Mobile App, Parking Meter or SMS. Always correctly enter the area, parking mode, and vehicle registration number. You can pay with coins or contactless in the meter; a ticket from the meter does not need to be left in the car.

Tips for Visitors:

  • Parking mode 3 Medium-term (violet) is the most advantageous for visitors. The first two hours are free, each additional hour is 20 , 13 hours cost a maximum of 50 , and 24 hours cost a maximum of 100 . Sundays and holidays are free.
  • Parking mode 2 Visitor (orange):
    • From Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00, it is mainly for short-term visitor parking. In the city centre, an hour costs 30 Kč, outside the center, 20 Kč.
    • At other times, an hour costs 20 Kč, 24 hours cost a maximum of 150 Kč in the centre and 100 Kč outside the centre. Sundays and holidays are free.
  • Parking mode 1 Residential (blue) is primarily for residents, but visitors can also park here, though it is less advantageous. From Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00, an hour costs 40 Kč in the centre, elsewhere and at other times an hour costs 20 Kč. The maximum price for 24 hours is 150 Kč in the centre, 100 Kč outside the centre.
  • No Need to Worry About Short Stays. City police officers check each parked car twice, about 20 minutes apart. If you arrange your parking or leave the place by then, no penalty will be imposed. It's always better to stop behind the blue line than obstruct outside it, even for a short time.
