Very strong winds, low humidity levels, and dry vegetation will lead to critical-to-extremely critical fire weather conditions. There is a significant threat of rapidly spreading wildfires across the TX panhandle and western OK today, along with portions of KS and NM.

Existing and potentially new wildfires can spread very, very rapidly in these conditions. If you're in these areas, it's important that you plan escape routes and make sure those in your home know the plan of action.

If wildfires are threatening your area, stay informed of evacuation orders. Leave immediately when asked to avoid being caught in fire, smoke, or road congestion.
