Czech aid in Ghana: planting trees

During the summer of 2023, with the financial support of the Czech Republic and the non-governmental organization Plants for Planet Czech Republic, mango and cashew tree saplings were planted in two communities in the Bomboi area. The aim of this activity was to teach the local community, especially women, how to care for small trees, which in the future will not only be a source of shade, but mainly a source of income for local families from selling fruit.
The Czech Republic perceives the need to help developing countries and thus contribute to improving the living conditions of local people and developing their potential. Thanks to the government's development aid program, the Czech Embassy in Ghana, through the so-called small local project institute, contributed financially to the implementation of the planting of 10,000 mango and cashew trees, which will enable the local community to obtain a source of income from the sale of fruit in the future and thus gain knowledge about growing fruit trees and how to handle fruits effectively. Teaching these capacities will certainly contribute to improving living conditions in the community and ensuring financial independence, which is still a challenge in sub-Saharan countries.
