The division of the EU countries based on the incidence of covid-19 has been terminated. At the moment, the division according to the countries of departure has been relevant - from the EU states and the non-EU states.
Important explanatory notes:
1) Only the cases when the incoming person has not visited any of the non-EU countries during the last 14 days for a longer period than 12 hours are considered as arrivals from the EU+ countries
2) The validity of all Covid certificates confirming basic vaccination scheme (1/1 or 2/2) is limited on 270 days (the validity of Covid certificates confirming the booster shot is unlimited). Period of validity of the Certificate received after recovering from covid-19 has been set on 180 days.
Basic rules are as follows:
Arrival from the EU countries:
With the reference to note 1) neither conditions, restriction nor duties are established for those kind of trips (travelling is free of any conditions).
Arrival from the non-EU countries
it applies currently equally to citizens of the Czech Republic, citizens of other EU states and citizens of countries outside the EU, who spent during last 14 days longer period than 12 hours in any non-EU countries (remains in force as amended on 15 February, 2022)
Travelers have to:
- fill in the arrival electronic form (www.prijezdovyformular.cz) – only passengers using the public means of transport
- have a document certifying the negative result of PCR/RAT test for covid-19 (validity of the tests is 72 hours from the time of testing for PCR and 24 hours for the antigen test). Exception for testing before the trip is granted to the persons holding a valid Covid certificate (with QR code).
- perform another PCR/RAT test after arrival to CZ during 5th-7th day of presence at the territory of the CZ. The exception for additional testing is granted to the persons holding valid Covid certificate (with QR code).
General exception for testing (not depending on holding any Covid certificate) and filling in the arrival electronic form is granted ONLY to children up to 12 years of age.
New exception from epidemiological measures has been established since 24. February 2022 for citizens of Ukraine (and other people) who can prove, that they are escaping from the territory of Ukraine because of the war.
Transit
All exceptions for transiting persons up to 12 hours through the territory of the Czech Republic have been cancelled. All entry to the territory of CZ is ruled by conditions stated for arrival to the CZ (see above).
