Conditions for Czech citizens, their family members with a residence permit, for EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence and foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic:
Czech citizens, their family members with a residence permit, EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence and foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic must fill in an arrival form before travelling to the Czech Republic. If arriving by public transport (especially by airplane, train, bus), they must undergo an antigen test (carried out no more than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the travel) or RT-PCR test (carried out no more than 72 hours prior to the beginning of the travel) and have a written confirmation of the result. If using individual transportation, it is not necessary to undergo an antigen or RT-PCR test prior to the journey.
All passengers (travelling by public and individual transport) have the obligation to undergo an RT-PCR test at own expense within 5 days from the entry to the Czech Republic. Self-isolation is required until confirmation of a negative test result. It is also mandatory to wear a respirator (more details in point I.16 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic) everywhere outside the home for a period of 14 days after arrival.
Czech citizens, their family members with a residence permit, EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence and foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic, whose test showed the presence of coronavirus less than 14 days before the planned entry into the Czech Republic, must travel to and then within the Czech Republic by private transport, if possible. In case of travel by public transport, the carrier must be informed about a possible persistent COVID-19 infection prior to the start of the journey. Regardless of the mode of transport, the traveller must inform the healthcare professionals who administer the coronavirus test and the locally competent regional hygiene station after entering the Czech Republic. Travellers are also obliged to observe the rules of isolation after entering the Czech Republic, for a period of 3 days after symptoms have dissipated, but for at least 14 days from the first positive coronavirus test, unless the regional hygiene station decides otherwise.
Conditions for all foreigners with an exception of family members of Czech citizens, EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence and foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic:
Foreigners (with an exception of family members of Czech citizens, EU citizens with a certificate of temporary residence and foreigners with a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic) must fill in an arrival form before travelling to the Czech Republic and have a written confirmation of a negative result of an antigen test (carried out no more than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the travel) or RT-PCR test (carried out no more than 72 hours prior to the beginning of the travel). Subsequently, they have the obligation to undergo an RT-PCR test at own expense within 5 days from the entry to the Czech Republic. Self-isolation is required until confirmation of a negative test result. It is also mandatory to wear a respirator (more details in point I.16 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic) everywhere outside the home for a period of 14 days after arrival.
Exceptions to the obligations to fill the arrival form and undergo a test are described in points I.6 and I.7 of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
Foreigners can travel to the Czech Republic only for essential reasons, not for the purpose of tourism or visiting friends. Exceptions from the entry ban and other rules for entering the Czech Republic can be found in the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
Detailed information - detailed rules for entry of Czech citizens and foreigners to the territory of the Czech Republic can be found on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic (incl. frequently asked questions).
